BLAKE SCHMITZ
Introducing Blake Schmitz, 20-year-old artist out of Minnesota. For Blake, music has been a part of his life always. Whether it was car rides, church, working out, pregame anthems or other ways. He first started writing music as a creative escape, but due to some random events and connections, his music really started to develop. He has tremendous support from many family members including; Jake Erickson, Ryan Vos, Rudy Voss, Jack Brinkman, Jahzeel Watson, Derek Larson, Dennis Morgan and so many more.
Blake’s music always tells a story and is his way to communicate with the world. He makes music in all types of genres but the two that he tends to make the most are country and pop. His songs are relatable, lively and meaningful. When it comes to his favorite, he likes whatever his newest song is because there will always be improvements and is whatever he feels in the moment. In this case it’d be “Backyard BBQ” that just came out on August 4th.
In the future, Blake plans to continue to build his music catalog. He has a lot of unreleased songs that he’s excited to release soon so expect BIG things. Some advice he’d like to give newly independent artists is you never know who you can and will impact your career. Numbers might not always be there but people are always listening. The songs you put out there can change a person's mood, mind and even spirit. Be kind and loving, your reputation and how you act will be your network and how you build your fan base. Make sure to advertise on different platforms and get outside of your comfort zone. Lastly, always make sure to be who you are and never let anyone change that.
