Moja is a 24 year old artist from New Jersey.  His artist name is actually his nickname for his birth name Umoja. Both have meanings in Swahelli. Moja means “the one” and Umoja meaning “unity”. Moja started to get into music when he joined the band in elementary school. He stuck with the band through high school along with singing in the choir for some time. His family has always been into music so he knew it was his passion for most of his life.

Moja’s music can be put in the genre of alternative hip-hop. It has a very raw, vibey and melodic feel to it. He would say that his song, “No Me Diga”  or “Maybelline” would be good tracks to get introduced to his music. “No Me Diga” has an international charm and is his only song that currently has a feature. His newest release, “Renegade” produced by Christian Armstrong has some serious vibe feelings.

In 2020, released his EP Earthquake. His inspiration came from wanting to make a genuine impact globally. With the global pandemic, Moja has been able to his quarantine time to really grow and take each day one at a time. Coming up, he plans to release more tracks, a music video for his recent release and three song mini project. The mini project will be exclusive on Soundcloud and YouTube consisting of vaporwave and hip-hop remixes.
